Theoretical rotational constants and IR signatures of protonated polycarbon dioxides OCnO
نویسنده
چکیده
This study considers the possibility of astronomical detection of members of the CnO2H series; these are possible tracers of the parent polycarbon dioxide molecules, OCnO. Direct radio detection of these molecules is not possible owing to non existent or too small dipole moments. The structures of all stable isomers were determined according to protonation sites. Rotational constants and dipole moments for the most stable protonated species were predicted by molecular electronic structure calculations and the error bar was estimated using a combination of observed data on the starting member of the series, HOCO+, and the closely related family of polycarbon monoxides, CnO. These molecular constants, accurate to within 0.2%, along with the calculated IR spectra, should assist in the identification of these species in the laboratory and in tentative assignments of interstellar lines.

متن کاملA laboratory and theoretical study of protonated carbon disulfide, HSCS+.
The rotational spectrum of protonated carbon disulfide, HSCS(+), has been detected in the centimeter-wave band in a molecular beam by Fourier transform microwave spectroscopy. Rotational and centrifugal distortion constants have been determined from ten transitions in the K(a)=0 ladder of the normal isotopic species, HS(13)CS(+), and DSCS(+). The present assignment agrees well with high-level c...
متن کاملChirality recognition of the protonated serine dimer and octamer by infrared multiphoton dissociation spectroscopy.
Infrared multiphoton dissociation (IRMPD) spectroscopy has been used to record IR signatures of chirality recognition in the protonated serine dimer and octamer in the 3200-3800 cm(-1) region. This is the first IRMPD study to investigate the heterochiral biomolecular system by utilizing the isotope-labelled species. Noticeable differences in the homo- versus heterochiral IRMPD spectra have been...

DFT(B3LYP, B3PW91) calculations in conjunction with three different basis sets have been utilized to investigate the variations in the bond lengths, dipole moment, rotational constants, IR frequencies, IR intensities and rotational invariants of ClCCCN. The nuclear quadrupole constants of chlorine ((35)Cl, (37)Cl) and nitrogen ((14)N) of ClCCCN have been calculated on the experimental r(s) stru...
